The kindergarten led chapel. We sang "Rise and Shine". Then they sang the first verse and then we started to sing verses 2-4 in Spanish . Then we had the opening prayer and our Bible reading was Genesis 6:5. The theme was Noah's Ark. They read from Genesis 6:9. Then they started to sing "God is so Good". They sang the first verse and we started to sing with them. Then we prayed and prayed the Lord's Prayer. Last we sang.
On Wednesday Mrs. Vanwey spoke some words like how Judas betrayed Jesus. She talked about a lesson of I don't care which sounded just wrong. We sang in all God's People Sing No. 159 and 101. After, Parker dismissed kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd. Students gave speeches giving some reasons to vote for Stuco offices: Harvey President, (of school, in stuco.) Rachel for Vice President, Jack for Treasurer, the two Emalies for Storekeeper, and Nicole, Jaden, and Elizabeth to pick for secretary. You could only vote for one.
On Wednesday first grade led chapel. Our first song was "Father Welcomes." The scripture readings were from Psalms 22:31 and Matthew 28:5-7. They also made a small video of when Jesus was crucified and buried in the tomb. Then first grade sang "Jesus Loves Me." Then we said The Lord's Prayer. Our last song was "The Lamb."
In chapel, it was Maundy Thursday. Pastor Snow had announcements. We did the opening hymn. It was, "When you Woke that Thursday Morning?" We did opening sentences and then we did confession and absolution. Then we did the prayer. Next, we did the Old Testament from Exodus 12: 1-14. Then we did the Epistle from 1 Corinthians 11: 23-32. Next, we did the Gospel from Luke 22: 7-20. Then we did the hymn of the day. It was, "The Gifts of Christ Freely Gives". Then we did the sermon. It was, "For You" from Luke 22: 19-20. Then we did the prayer, the Lord's Prayer, and the "Words of Institution". Lastly, we sang hymns during communion.
On Wednesday we learned that the Lord said, "Finished". We sang hymn #105, "Go to Dark Gethsemane". Then we read Lenten sentences. The first reading was Genesis 1:12:3. We also read John 19:28-30. Then we sang the hymn of the day, "The Lamb" #229. We prayed and said the Lord's Prayer. Then the pastor said the Benediction and we sang the closing hymn, "Jesus Loves Me" #144.
On Wednesday we saw the 2nd grade artwork about "Thirst". Then we sang "Father Welcomes". Then we said the Lenten sentences. Then the pastor said 2 scripture readings. The first one was Revelation 21:6,22:1-2. Then we read John 19:1-14. We sang. The sermon was based on John 19:28-29 and talked about how thirsty Jesus was. Then we said the Lord's Prayer.
On Wednesday we learned about "Forsaken". Then we sang a song called "In the Cross of Christ Is Glory". We read Lenten sentences after our song. Then we did our scripture readings. Then we sang a song and listened to the sermon which was about "Forsaken". We looked at some pictures and then we did our prayers. Then we sang a song and finished with Honor Roll for Middle School.
On Wednesday in chapel we sang "God Loved the World So That He Gave". Then we read 1 Timothy 5:3-8. Then we read John 19:16-27. Then we sang "Jesus in Your Dying Woes". Then we prayed. Then we prayed The Lord's Prayer. Then we sang "My Faith Looks Trustingly".
Wednesday, 7th grade led chapel. First we sang "Jesus Loves Me". Then we did Litany of Thanks. Then we sang "This is Amazing Grace". The 7th grade did a skit about Valentine's Day. Then they did 1 Corinthians 13:13, 48 and John 3:10.
Chapel was led by fifth grade. The scripture readings were from Galatians and James. After that we sang"Thy Word is a Lamp". Next, there was a skit and then we sang "Wake Us O Lord Thy Human Need".
