On Monday in social studies we learned primary and secondary resources.
On Thursday we learned about inventions in communities. There are many different inventions.
On Monday we read about how to read a timeline. First, we learned what a timeline was. Next, we learned about millennium. Then, we looked at a timeline about Chicago's early history. We also did some practice using the timeline. The last thing we did on Monday was do our workbook page on timelines. On Thursday, we talked about how people bring changes. We talked about improving transportation and building upward. We also talked about working for suffrage (the right to vote) and equality, like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did. Lastly, we did a worksheet on how people bring changes.
On Monday, we talked about Sacajawea, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther king Jr. Next, we talked about our vocabulary words: invention, technology, explore, settlement, and colony. Last we read, "A Place Called Freedom". On Tuesday, we shared our Kansas projects. On Thursday, we talked about how communities can change.
Monday: We looked a pictographs and bar graphs. Then we did our workbook pages. We had to compare graphs.
Thursday: We learned about the canal. We watched a video of boats going though the canal. Then we learned about farming and mines. Last, in our text book we learned about water and electricity. We watched two videos on Hoover Dam.
Monday: We talked about Natural Resources. Then we talked about renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable is a resource that can be made by nature and humans. A nonrenewable is a resource that people and nature cannot make. It is something we just found.
Thursday: We did Latitude and Longitude again like last week or the week before. We did a study guide. Also we were in partners.
